Electronic Visit Verification Summit

Free Session! Registration is required!

OCHCH, 1105 Schrock Road, Suite 120, Columbus, OH 43229

OCHCH is working with the Ohio Department of Medicaid to host an EVV educational program for our members at our Center for Excellence. The EVV Summit will be an opportunity for our members to talk with key ODM personnel about your questions and concerns about EVV.

ODM sent an email to all home care providers in the state with information on how to register for training on the new state Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system set to go into effect on January 8, 2018. At least one representative of your agency must complete all required training to receive your login credentials to the Sandata system.  This educational workshop is in addition to the required state training and is designed to give a high level overview with ODM providing another opportunity for Ohio agencies to have conversations with the department prior to implementation.

Topics to be reviewed during presentation:

  • Cost to providers of operating and maintaining the state sponsored EVV system
  • ODM’s reliance on GPS technology over telephony and manual entry
  • Concerns about home health agencies (HHA) providing social security numbers and email addresses of direct care workers and the cost of providing HIPPA compliant email addresses for employees
  • The lack of real-time reporting of missed visits
  • Requirements being referenced on ODM’s website rather than being incorporated into the program’s rules

Presented by Ohio Department of Medicaid representative, Julie Evers.
