Conference Keynote by Frederic Bertley, Ph.D.

Dr. Bertley is a renowned, civic-minded leader, strategist, innovator, scientist, educator, and communicator. He is President and CEO of the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) and the interim CEO of the National Veterans Memorial and Museum (NVMM). At COSI, Dr. Bertley works incessantly towards elevating science literacy globally, helping reimagine the STEM workforce development pipeline for the nation and creating engaging, empathetic and innovative citizens.

As interim CEO of the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, Dr. Bertley is leading the national museum through a transformational phase to continue to honor and celebrate the lives of Veterans, their families, and our community. Dr. Bertley’s drive to innovate has elevated COSI’s on-site science museum experience, as well as taken COSI beyond Central Ohio, with programming across the United States and around the world. His leadership has led to highly engaging experiences including the COSI Science Festival, The Color of Science and EiPIC programs, as well as the celebrated COSI Connects STEM Kit Learning Lunchboxes. Dr. Bertley co-created and hosted the prime-time television show QED with Dr. B and the animated series, Dr. B in 3. Dr. Bertley has won numerous prestigious awards, including the National Medal, eleven EMMY® Awards, Dell’s 100 Most Innovative Individuals, CEO of The Year, and the George Washington Carver Award for Science Engagement.

The OCHCH Annual Conference & Trade Show provides a highly relevant learning opportunity that enables professional development, peer-to-peer networking, and equips home care and hospice agencies for success. The trade show offers the opportunity to learn about many essential products and services that support the industry. Best yet, the conference is inexpensive and close to home. OCHCH members receive discounts on attendance, which are also available to their employees, contract employees and branch offices.

Agenda Summary

Conference Day One and Two will be held on Monday and Tuesday, October 12 & 13.

  • Day 1 will kick off with an inspiring keynote address by Dr. Bertley.
  • Day 2 will begin with the OCHCH Annual Member Business Meeting during breakfast.
  • Breakout sessions will be held throughout the day. Day 1 typically concludes with a fun & casual networking reception at the venue or a nearby location.
  • The Trade Show runs through both days, with exhibitors representing key industry service providers and suppliers from around Ohio and the nation.
  • Contact Hours & Continuing Education Certificates will be provided for keynotes and breakout sessions.

OCHCH is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. CE’s may apply for ST/OT if related to practice. Attendees for ST/OT are responsible to check your state board for the application of these CE’s. CE’s will be submitted to the Ohio PT Board for approval.

Venue & Lodging

Keynotes and Educational Sessions will be held at the convenient & modern Renaissance Columbus Westerville-Polaris Hotel, right off the I-270 beltway in northeast Columbus, Ohio. OCHCH will arrange one or more group rates at area hotels, including the Renaissance. A special reservation link will be included in your Conference registration confirmation email.
