60 Years Helping Ohio Families Stay Home Together
2025 marks a powerful milestone for the Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice – 60 years of supporting the people and agencies who care for Ohio’s most vulnerable residents. If you’ve ever had a nurse visit your aging parent at home, or a home health aide stop by to help a neighbor recover from surgery, chances are the agency behind that care has been supported by OCHCH. We know that many people may not be familiar with what home care or hospice really means until they need it. It’s not something you think about — until it’s everything. That’s where we come in.
What Does the Council Do?
In simple terms, OCHCH exists to support the people and organizations who make it possible for Ohioans to receive medical care right in their homes — where it’s often safer, more comfortable, and more dignified.
The Council provides training, education, advocacy, and leadership to the agencies who care for Ohio’s sickest, most fragile, and often most financially vulnerable residents.
We work behind the scenes to make sure those caregivers can keep doing their jobs — caring for your parent, your grandparent, your spouse, your child, or even yourself — in your own home.
Rooted in Compassion
Our mission is to promote and advance home and community-based care throughout Ohio. Our vision is simple but powerful: that every Ohioan who needs home care or hospice has access to it.
Home health and hospice agencies help people live better lives by keeping them out of hospitals and in the place they love most — home. But they can’t do it alone.
Home- and community-based service agencies need support, guidance, and a voice that helps them conduct the business of care. That’s what we do.
Services & Programs
The OCHCH Annual Conference & Trade Show is the largest gathering of home care and hospice professionals in Ohio, attracting hundreds of attendees and exhibitors. You’ll make important professional contacts and gather vital information that will impact your bottom line and enhance quality of care for those in need.
The OCHCH Political Action Committee is an important part of the Council’s advocacy program, ensuring the home care and hospice industry supports efforts to elect and keep our champion policymakers in office. Our champions act as the cornerstones to advance policy that helps our industry and stop policy that inversely impacts our day-to-day practices.
The OCHCH Provider Help Desk provides an easy way for members to connect to resources and gain knowledge on crucial topics impacting their agencies. Experts are available to answer your Medicaid, Medicare, hospice, private duty, billing & coding, legal, payer, revenue cycle, rules & regulatory, estate, and operations questions.
