We’re posting to share exciting news from The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) about EVV.

Per the email release pictured above, “ODM is adjusting the effective date of changes to the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) claims adjudication process to meet the best interests of stakeholders, providers, and the program. The changes originally planned to go into effect on October 1, will not take place any earlier than January 1, 2025.”

More details will come, but we wanted to share this important, and very welcome change with everyone. It’s also important to say how grateful the Council is to the team at ODM for listening to the community on this matter and reacting in a thoughtful manner.

Since July 1st, the Council has kept in very regular contact with ODM and their EVV team reporting the issues and trends our members were experiencing, and expressed the concerns and recommendations from our members which included a request to delay in the claims adjudication date.

We provided them with specific details of processes and supports that we would expect to see available for at least a 90-day period before claims adjudication goes into effect. We continue to appreciate the relationship with ODM and look forward to continuing to be a partner in designing a process that works for everyone involved.
