Welcoming New Team Members in 2024

Happy New Year!

We have been hinting at some new concepts and organizational ideas, and I am thrilled to say the time has come! It’s official!

We have redesigned the OCHCH Help Desk with a panel of experts in various fields to support the many needs of our members. Click here to meet our panel of experts! We will be sharing more details about the Panel soon and adding experts as the year progresses, and be sure, they will bring serious weight to our promise of supporting your needs.

Additionally, we would like to introduce Katie Gallenstein BSN, RN, COS-C, a former OCHCH Board Member, now joining us as Development & Policy Director.

Katie is an accomplished leader with 20 years as a Registered Nurse, 16 years in Home Health, 6 years in Hospice leadership, and over 13 years leading multi-site agencies running the gamut of clinical, quality, operations, executive leadership, and M&A across several different states. Katie has accomplished industry certifications of COS-C and CEHCH and was an OCHCH Board Member from 2020-2023. Katie is particularly passionate about leadership and maintaining a culture of continuous learning and progress. She is a fierce proponent for people to be able to remain in their home or setting of their choice for the duration of their life. Connect with Katie and learn more about her on LinkedIn.

From Katie: “As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, I am eager to contribute my skills and passion to drive positive change as Development & Policy Director. In my role, I am committed to fostering a progressive approach that builds upon what I have experienced over these years as invaluable to a member agency. Beyond the conventional focus on industry rules and regulations, I aspire to bring a holistic perspective that encompasses the broader spectrum of health and wellness, evolving needs of the workforce, and leadership development to name a few. It is my belief that our success lies not only in compliance but in the well-being of those we serve, and the professionals and caregivers dedicated to providing care. I look forward to supporting the expansion of meaningful connections between member agencies to create a stronger network of support for everyone involved. It’s my goal to work closely with each of you to make a meaningful impact on the future of our industry, and most importantly, the well-being of our agencies and those we serve.”

Lastly, although you’ve worked with him for five months now, we have officially added Drew Cook to the OCHCH team as our Communications Director.

Drew joins us with a background in education, customer service, and most recently 15 years of experience working in association management supporting the life sciences industry. As Communications Director, Drew will work with the OCHCH team, our members, and stakeholders to help drive the growth and success of Ohio’s home care and hospice community. Drew will be our point person for social media, newsletters, and website content, while also ensuring that we have a strong handle on data analytics, technology, and efficiencies – all aimed at providing a rewarding member experience. Connect with Drew and learn more about him on LinkedIn.

From Drew: “It’s my belief that communication, and the inspired collaboration it fosters, is at the heart of success. I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Council and its members these last five months and I’m honored to formally join the team as Communications Director. In this role, I will actively engage with and support all divisions of the Council including regulatory affairs, education & events, member support, partner initiatives, government relations, OCHN programs, and more. My motivation, in work and family life, has always been to do something meaningful for the people around me while learning and growing as a person. I look forward to 2024 through that lens, delighted to have this tremendous opportunity to support Ohio’s amazing home health and hospice ecosystem.”

This will round out the new OCHCH Team that will provide support, guidance, visibility, and so much more as we venture into 2024.

Questions? Comments? Excellent! Please do not hesitate to reach out!

Cheers to the new year. Thanks so much and have a great week.
