Maggie Mayunga, STNA, 2024 Homemaker/Aide of the Year in Hospice Award Winner

The winner of the 2024 Homemaker/Aide of the Year in Hospice is Maggie Mayunga, STNA, Hospice Aide, Bella Care Hospice!

The Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice awards program recognizes individuals for their exemplary service and care in the home care and hospice field. Additionally, OCHCH awards special recognition to allies in the legislature that support a patient’s right to receive care in the comfort of their home. Nominations for future awards can be submitted at this link.

The Homemaker/Aide of the Year Award recognizes a special individual who is an outstanding, personable, caring and dedicated caregiver (home care and/or hospice). This nominee must be a homemaker/aide with at least three years of experience in giving in-home patient care and must be currently employed by a member agency. One individual is recognized in Home Health, and one in Hospice.

Maggie is the jack of all trades and fabulous at it all. She is dedicated to the healthcare field and has worked in many areas from the Hospitals to Long-term care facilities, home health care, and more.

She landed at her love with Hospice Care about eight years ago. Maggie loves caring for people as well as being a support for their family. Maggie is amazing from the personal care she gives to her personal touch with activities of daily living and more. Maggie is a social light and proves time and time again that she is a team player as she is always willing to pick up or help out whenever a need arises.

She is kind with her care and ensures her patients are fresh and clean with safe environments and have no needs before she departs. Maggie travels from sites to homes and to the office delivering great care and supplies as needs arise without complaining.

Every time her colleagues see Maggie she has a smile on her face and is a delight to be around. We need more Maggie’s in this world!
